Yay for family!

This has been a fun weekend! My brother Nathan, his wife Kristy and their 2 boys Josef and Kristopher came and visited us for a couple hours! It was so great to see them! Nathan is being deployed to Afghanistan on April 21st, so they got a couple weeks of leave and decided to basically tour the US visiting all their family. I say touring the US because they are driving from North Carolina to Idaho, which is a good 2 and 1/2 to 3 day trip all by itself depending on how often and how long you stop. Then back through Arizona and Texas, so basically they are driving the entire country. They have been living in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, which is only about 6 hours from us. They started their trip yesterday morning and drove to Charleston to see us for a couple of hours. I made spaghetti and garlic bread for everyone so they could have a nice lunch before they got back on the road. They got to help me finish off the funfetti cupcakes I made the other day too! The boys had a great time running around outside after being in the car for 6 hours. I wish I'd taken more pictures while they were here! I did get this one though:

Kristopher is the little one in the overalls on Matt's lap, he is 2 and 1/2. I'm not sure what he was doing with his hands, lol! Josef is on my lap, he is almost 5, and serisouly cheesing it up for the camera. They are too cute! When Kristy told them to say cheese for the camera, they both yelled out, "CHEESE!!" and scrunched up their faces like that! SO cute! I can't wait till we have our own little cheesers running around :) They are going to stop by again on their way back so I'll take more pictures then.

Then today Matt's buddy Scott, he was one of the best men at our wedding, dropped by for a minute. He lives and goes to school in Kentucky, just about 2 hours from here. He had gone down to Virginia to visit his girlfriend this weekend and was on his way back through West Virginia to Kentucky he stopped by to say hi. He actually missed seeing Matt by only 5 minutes because Matt had already gone to work. So I got to see Scott for a little bit and he got to pick up some things that Matt had gotten for him from the liquor store. Matt comes home with free stuff all the time, like drink glasses, keychains, t-shirts, coasters and various other items that he loves to give away to his friends and family. Yay for family and good friends!

Photo Tag

Well, Alise Photo-Tagged me so I guess it's only fair for me to comply with her wishes, especially since she put up a gorgeous, beautiful picture for me! So here goes:

PHOTO TAG

1. Go to your picture folder on your computer or wherever you store your pictures.

2. Go to your 6th folder and then choose the 6th picture.

3. Post it on your blog and then tell the story that goes with the picture.

4. Tag 6 other lucky people to do the same thing and leave a comment on their blog telling them about it.

Ok, this was my sophomore year of college at our 15 year sorority reunion. My little sister is on the left of me and my twin sister (we both had the same big sister) is on my right, she was also my roomate at the time and she was my maid-of-honor at my wedding. Although, she moved in December and I've only talked (emailed really) to her twice since then.... it's amazing how much time goes by when you're not paying attention. I look so young in this picture! and Skinny! what happened?!? LOL!!

It's that time again

Time again for belly pictures! I haven't posted one in a couple of weeks cause there really wasn't much changing. But I've got a little bigger belly now! I am 12 weeks and almost out of my first trimester. I've been feeling great, just still a little sleepy and hungry all the time now so I've been trying to make sure I'm eating good for me stuff. Matt on the other hand is not feeling so good. He's come down with a nasty cold and has been feeling crappy for a couple of days now. I hope you feel better sweetie!

I figure at this rate, in a few more weeks I'll really be popping out!
P.S. I tag Kimber for the 4 things post below!

Finally

Finally, a good doctor's appointment! Dr. Winkler is sooo much better than the idiot midwives at the clinic. He actually talked to me like a person and listened to my questions. It was probably the best experience I've had with a doctor, ever. The appointment was pretty standard. He just talked to me about what to expect over the next few weeks and answered the few questions that I had. Then he got out the doppler to find the baby's heartbeat. He told me not to freak out if he couldn't find it since I'm not that far along yet. Usually he said it's not as reliable until after at least 12 weeks. So it took him a few minutes but he found it!! yay!! It sounded like a faint tiny little horse galloping away. He also made me feel better when he said that once the heartbeat is strong enough to be heard with the doppler the chance of miscarriage goes down to about 1 in 500. I go back on April 17th and I'll be 15 weeks at that point then around May 19th when I'm 19 weeks we'll find out the sex of the baby!! Woo hoo! So much to look forward to!

Cartoons

So I found these cartoons on babygaga.com. I know some of you have probably seen these before, but I thought they were hilarious so I'm going to post a couple here and there as I think they apply, lol.

I thought this one was super appropriate because that's what I tell myself every day. "I'm not fat... just pregnant..." Sometimes it makes me feel better..... sometimes it doesn't....lol
I thought this one was particularly funny. I had to give up alcohol, but he doesn't! I think he'd have a real problem giving up his occasional glass of scotch, lol.
So, none of my pants fit, but I can't fit into maternity pants. Mickaela did tell me about this thing called the bella band and I think I'm going to have to invest. I did buy a pair of pants from old navy maternity, but I'm just not big enough for them and I think I look like I'm wearing pajamas when I wear them out.

Talkin bout...My giirrll!

"I've got sunshine, on a cloudy day.

When it's cold outside, I've got the month of May.

I guess you'd say, what can make me feel this way?

My girl! Talkin bout, My girl!"

This is our baby girl! I think it looks just like the other picture. But still cute! I can't wait to meet my baby!!

Things have been good here. I go to work, come home, sleep on the couch, Matt gets home, we eat dinner, then I go to bed. lol. Lots of sleeping for me! I had a definite pregnant moment today. I had to recount some money to a customer, I had the right amount I just got mixed up for a second. No big deal right? Oh no! As soon as they left I started crying hysterically and had to leave the floor, hahaha! Then I came back down a few minutes later and was fine. Yay for hormones!

Poor Matt, we rarely go out to do anything anymore, but now that I'm getting to the end of the first trimester I can't wait to have a little more energy (I'm already not as nauseous as I was) so hopefully we'll get to have some fun, especially now that it's starting to get warmer. Matt's still loving his job and working like a mad man every day and then comes home to his crazy pregnant wife who randomly cries or yells for absolutely no reason. He's so sweet, he always just waits and asks me if I'm ok or if there's anything he can get me. Then tells me he loves me and kisses me. I love him so much and couldn't even imagine doing this without him!

To Matt:

I love you, I love you, I love you! And I know I've already told you this, But I am apologizing in advance for the next 6 and 1/2 months of craziness and hormones. I'm sorry that I get cranky sometimes for what seems like no reason, or get all teary, again for no reason. Please just understand that it's not you! I love you so much. Thank you for being the most wonderful husband and the father of my baby! I can't wait to go through this adventure with you. Love, Love, Love!!

Already?

Yep, I grow babies really fast and this is our baby! lol! No really, I found this website where you upload a pic of you and then a pic of your husband or whoever, and then it shows you what your baby would look like. I have to say, not to brag or anything, but I think our baby boy turned out super cute! I tried to do a girl too, but it was having problems so I have to try again tomorrow.

New wedding pics!

We finally decided to scan some of our professional wedding photos onto the computer and thought I would share a few of those with you all. I love this photo. It's 2 photos, both taken during our first dance. Love it!

AwwwUUUUgaaa! Look at those sexxy men! Scott, Matt and Dave posing, looking all studly for the camera.

Amy, Me and Lindsey posing. I love how they melded it together with the photo of our feet and the flowers. Beautiful!

Yay! We really got married! We were very, very, very excited to actually be done with all of it!

I won't bore you with a million other photos that we scanned too, but I am adding more on Facebook, so if any of you are on there you can check them out there.

Baby Pics!

New pics! Ok, I had just driven back from Ohio and I'm exhausted in these pictures, so of course I look fabulous, (not!). Oh well.

This is at 9wks. If you didn't know I was pregnant, you'd just think I was fat! But there's definitely a bump there!

9 wks bare belly pic. In my fabulous maternity pants I bought from Old Navy. They are sooo much more comfortable than anything I have been wearing lately. I can't even button any of my other pants anymore.
My 6 week pic, just to compare. I can tell the difference more than you can see it in the pics. But it's there!

I finally had an ultrasound this morning!! It was the most amazing feeling I've had since seeing that positive pregnancy test. There's really a baby in there!! Holy cow!

Our little bean!! Hearbeat was nice and strong at 186 BPM. We got to hear it! It was so cool!

I know these aren't the best quality pictures, but you get the idea, lol.

We've got legs!! yay! I've never been so happy to see legs before!!

Baby is not camera shy! He was waving his arms around and dancing for us! So incredible!

I was crying the whole time and Matt and I were holding hands so tight.... it really was awesome. I mean that in the sense that it inspired an overwhelming sense of awe inboth of us. I can't even explain how incredibly amazing it was.

Nurse said I was 9wks and 2days. So right around where I had guestimated myself to be. Maybe a day ahead, but I won't change my EDD unless the doc tells me to. I figure a day or 2 doesn't really matter anyway since most babies aren't even born on their due dates. But Matt's pretty excited that the baby might be born on his birthday, which is Oct. 7th.

More stuff

I figured since I had so much I wanted to talk about I would break them up into smaller posts. I had to go to training this week for my job. I mentioned this earlier but I am working at Chase as a part-time teller. I had to go to Columbus, OH for 3 days. I drove up Monday night and came home last night (Thursday night). it was a lot of fun actually. Everything was on Chase, I only had to pay for my lunches. I drove up there in a rental car, stayed in the Hilton Garden Inn, and had my breakfasts and dinners paid for. We had classroom every day from 8:30 till 5. It was really well structured training. Lots of details and lots of practice, so I feel really good about going to work on Monday and really knowing what I'm doing. And I passed all my tests at the end so yay!!

It was so wierd to be away from Matt for so long though. I had the hardest time sleeping, especially the first night. But it was sooo nice to come back home and be with him!!

Way past time for an update!

Sorry it's been so long! There's been so much going on, I wanted to wait until it all settled down, lol. First things first, I switched Doctors. Let me tell you why:
I went in for an appointment on Feb. 27. Not a prenatal appt, but a colposcopy, cause my pap smear had come back weird (but it was just because I'd had a yeast infection when they did it, so that's fine). When I got there they asked me how I'd been feeling and I told them I'd been having really bad cramps and some sharp shooting pains. I wasn't even spotting or anything and the nurse starts talking about miscarriages and what I should do, blah, blah, blah and basically freaking the crap out of me. She sent me to the hospital to get my hcg levels checked. So that Friday my level was 84,293, then I went back on Sunday and my level was 90,182. They told me that my levels hadn't gone up as much as they would have liked so they were going to schedule me for an ultrasound the next day, so this past Monday, March 2. The hospital was supposed to call me Monday morning to let me know what time my appointment was. So monday morning rolls around and I'm still freaking out and the phone never rings. Finally I called the hospital myself to see whats going on and they didn't have me scheduled at all!! The nurse at familycare had never sent in orders for my ultrasound!! I called the clinic and ended up talking to 3 different nurses, all who had no idea what was going on. Finally they said they would find the midwife and call me back. They never called back!

Later that day I was getting ready to leave for Ohio to go to my training class, I stopped by the Liquor Company to see Matt before I left and Dr. Winkler was there. He is the husband of Matt's boss and an Ob/GYN. We talked to him for awhile and I told him what had been going on with the clinic. He told me not to go back there and to come see him instead and gave us the number for his office. Yay!! I have a doctor who actually cares about me and knows me as a real person!!
