new pics

We were goofing around with the camera last night and decided to take a couple of fun pictures. We haven't taken a picture together in awhile and thought we should get a couple in. Don't you just love his scruffy face? I keep telling him that when it gets hot he's gonna want to shave it, but he likes having a beard.
We went to Red Lobster last night for dinner, SOO delicious! They have this garlic cream sauce that they drizzle over the shrimp or scallops or whatever happens to be on your particular dish and it's freaking amazing. Not to mention the parmesan potatos..... ahhhh I'm drooling just thinking about it. If you haven't been there recently, you should go because our server said the promo is over this week, and you need to try it! We have all day off together today too. Our schedules this week have been almost complete opposite so we will actually get to see each other! Yay! I'm going out to lunch with a girl friend today and then we'll probably come home and watch movies all day. Best saturday ever!
Giving kisses to the baby :) Victor loves kisses from daddy. I'm pretty sure I felt a kick last night and then twice already this morning. I saw my belly move the last time I felt him kick, it was SOO cool! It seems like it's been forever and I'm just now starting to feel kicks, but I guess since my placenta is in front I just have to wait. I'm so excited to finally be feeling something though!
Me just goofin around on the couch. Again, I feel like the only time we get the camera out is to take belly pics anymore, which is great, but I want to remember to get pics of other stuff too.

My official 21 Week Belly Pic. I just got this green dress at JC Penney (60% off) and you'll probably be seeing me in it alot because it's sooo freaking comfortable!!

Halfway There!

Officially 20 weeks along today! Still have 20 left to go though. Looking back, the past 20 weeks seem to have gone by quickly, but the coming 20 weeks seems like forever.... that's what happens when you find out you're pregnant at 3 weeks, I guess. I've decided that this whole 9 month incubation thing is just a bit too long. Let's have the baby now, I'm ready and I haven't even gotten to the tough stuff yet, hahaha!
Not much is new here since Tuesday. I mentioned before that my placenta is anterior, so I still haven't really been feeling any kicking still. Occasionally I feel something, but nothing major yet. Soon enough I guess I'll feel like a punching bag :) Also, I have the beginnings of carpal tunnel in my right hand, partly from being on the computer all day at work and partly from being pregnant and swelling. Doc said it should go away after I give birth. It doesn't really hurt yet or anything, but my fingers go numb occasionally and it'll ache in my fingers and my wrist, especially at night.
I'm still gaining weight a bit too quickly, for a total of 16lbs so far. Doc said as long as I'm not eating sugar (which I'm not) and doing my best to eat healthy (which I am) then that's all I can do. My blood pressure is still great so as long as I'm healthy it's fine I guess. Of course I feel like a cow, but at least Victor and I are both healthy, that's all that matters!
Very excited that starting on June 1st we will finally have health insurance! We can go to the dentist and I can get my eyes checked for the first time in over 2 years. Not to mention paying for Victor's pending arrival. yay :)
Got my hair cut today! Nothing major, just a trim and layered up again so it actually styles now and not just laying limply on my head. You can see in the pictures on the right side of the blog how long my hair was before I cut it back in January. I wish I had some pictures of it right after I cut it the last time, but it's grown out alot (thank you prenatal vitamins) it was about even with my shoulders.

Right before getting my hair cut.

After getting home and styling it.

It feels a lot better!

20 week belly

Slightly different angle, I realized I turned a bit in the other one.

I'm tired of feeling frumpy all the time so I dressed up a bit while I was playing with my hair.

Everyone who voted for a Girl......

was WRONG!!! he's a beautiful baby BOY!!

Victor Stephen Meyers. He flashed his little winkie at us!! His heart is pumpin in all 4 chambers and his kidneys are working, which means he's swallowing, woohoo! And he's a big boy already! Measuring at 8days ahead of my EDD, and a whopping 14 ozs already. The tech was like, "oh my, you're gonna have a big baby!" I do have an anterior placenta, which just means that the placenta attached to the front of my uterus instead of the back. Not a bad thing, just means there's more cushion between me and the baby kicking so it'll be a while longer before Matt will be able to feel anything. We're so excited!!

Tomorrow!!!!

8:30 am tomorrow (tuesday) morning is our appointment with our BIG ultrasound!!!!! OMG, I'm SOOO excited!!! I finally have a girls name picked, and we already had our boys name, so we're all ready with either name. I'm ready to do some shopping!! I am not going to sleep for the next 24 hours, I'm sure, haha!

i guess thursday is the day

Apparently Thursday is my official blogging day :) Nothing much is going on here though. Same old thing, work, work, work, sleep, sleep, sleep. Does anyone else watch Biggest Loser? I cannot believe Helen won! I so wanted it to be Tara!! Geez.... At least I have another season to look forward to.

Tonight was Matt's last wine education class, so hopefully I'll actually be seeing him a bit more now! He's been taking them with his boss every Tuesday and Thursday for the past month and then he's been closing almost every other night so it's been pretty lonely :) Our dryer is still broken so I'm only doing intermittant loads of laundry. I'll wash a few things here and there and hang them up in the bathroom to dry overnight. They don't always get all the way dry so I have to iron them in the morning till they get dry, lol! I can't hang anything up outside cause we can't put up a clothesline, plus it's been raining like crazy for the past week and a half.

Our ultrasound is in 4 days!!! Wooo!!! I can't WAIT!! I still think it's a girl, but I've got a 50-50 shot of being wrong, so who knows? LOL! Maybe I'll have one of each.... Whoa!

19 Weeks

My shirt says: "Baby makes the Belly go Round... " it's my nice way of telling people that No I'm not fat, I'm pregnant! Plus, the top part of my belly button has officially popped out so I give it a week before I officially have an outie.

More

I was heading out the door to work this morning and didn't get to update on everything I wanted. So here's the rest of it!

Matt took the GRE today. For those of you who don't know, that stands for the Graduate Record Examination, it's the test most people take to get into a grad school. His christmas present this past christmas was me registering him for the test and getting him the study guides. Not very romantic I know, lol, but I knew he would feel bad about the money unless that's how I did it. We aren't currently planning on going to grad school, but when we do get to go back (or he gets to go back, either one) at least now he's taken it. Here's the kicker, he did not study for it. I know he looked at the book once for sure, but other than that I don't know. But he did better than I did and I studied for that test for months!! He got a 520 Verbal (I got a 610) and 620 Quantitative, that's the math and stuff (I got a 490, math has never been my thing). He's really mad because he thinks he could have done a lot better, But I'm so proud of him! I wish he'd studied because I hate to think I bought him the books for nothing, lol, but I'm sure if he wants to take it again he'll have the books to study then, if he wants. Way to go Baby! I'm so proud of you!

I have to tell you guys what happend with my doctors office too! I don't know if you all will remember, but at my last appointment they drew my blood for the AFP test. Then we decided to wait until our insurance kicked in since the girl said the test was going to be about $800. A few hours later when I was at work they called me back and said that they had found out the test was only $160. So we decided that was doable and I went back in the next to have blood drawn again so they could send in the test. I already mentioned that the results came back good, so woo-hoo for that! BUT, we got the bill for the test back from LabCorp last weekend. For $421. The test itself was $397 and then the $24 drawing fee. I was soooo pissed off I was crying. I didn't know if it was a mistake that one of the nurses made (we'd had issues with some misinformation from one of the nurses before) or if LabCorp made the mistake. I called my doc and told him what happened and he promised to find out what happened. His office manager called me back the next morning. Apparently the docs office has access into LabCorps database so they can quote people prices, just like they did for me, and the database quoted $160 for that particular test. Debbie (the office manager) called them and I guess there was a glitch in their system and it hadn't been updated. LabCorp agreed to lower the price and signed the balance over to my doc office so we can just pay them a grand total of $150. I was so happy when she told me that if she'd been standing in front of me I probably would have kissed her!! I'm so glad that the results were good, and now that it's resolved and we don't have to pay a ridiculous amount of money. Wooo-Hoo!

I'm hoping work settles down soon. I'm only supposed to work 25 hours a week, but since we're short-staffed I've been working more hours. I hope they hire someone soon! The hiring process is a long one though, once the person is offered the job and they accept, there is about a 2 week period during which they have to pass a urine test, be fingerprinted and turn in a TON of paperwork. Then, they have to take training classes, the series of internet classes take about a week, then a 3 day training class in Ohio. So, once they actually hire someone, it'll be about a month before they can actually work and take some of the heat off of us. So, pray they find someone SOON!!!

What's with people and making comments about my belly? I guess this week it's become more apparent to people that I'm actually pregnant and not just fat so they feel inclined to say something about it. One of the bankers yesterday (when I was working out in the drive-thru) came over to do a transaction for a customer because they were backed up inside. He walked in and did a double-take and said "Heidi! You're pregnant!" I laughed and said "Oh my gosh, how did that happen?" They've all known I'm pregnant since the beginning so it was just kind of funny the way he blurted that out. Then this morning, a different banker jokes "Heidi, all the tellers have been complaining that you're taking up too much room back behind the teller line." I laughed and said, "I ought to smack you. Be careful! I'm hormonal I could start crying at any moment!" And I've had numerous customers ask me about it as well. Everyone has an opinion about what I'm having, etc, etc. I think it's interesting that some people think I'm carrying high and others say I look low...... I guess it's hard to tell for sure until I'm further along, cause at this point my uterus is still lower. Although, the books all say my uterus should be about an inch or 2 below my belly button at this point and since I have a short torso, my uterus is actually about even with my belly button. So compared to that, I'm carrying high I guess, but there's really nowhere else for the baby to go :) Speaking of belly buttons, I betcha mine pops completely out in a week. It pops out more and more every day!
I did have a very nice comment from one of the regulars today. He's an older man. He noticed the belly and asked how I'd been feeling. Then asked if I'd been gaining any weight. "I only ask because one of my daughters gained about 80 lbs, the other gained about 50, but my wife when she had them didn't gain any. " I told him that I'd gained a few lbs so far, but not too much yet. Then he said, "Well, the baby must agree with you because you don't look like you've gained anything at all. You look great." I said, thank you, I feel like a cow though! He replied, "No. You really look wonderful. Congratulations." So while it started out as a wierd comment, it made me feel good that he would take the time to say something so nice.

Cartoon for the week! Several of you I know will appreciate this!

I think that's it for now.... Toodles!

18 Weeks

This past week has been a crazy one all right. Starting off with Monday, I worked an 8 hour shift, 9-5, without a lunch break because the branch manager decided to break his own jackass record. Normally the Assistant BM handles everything on our (the teller) side of things, but she was out because she'd had one of her wisdom teeth removed and was in a lot of pain. So our BM decided that none of us could go to lunch until we had all the night drop bags processed. There were 28 bags. And it was Monday which is always busy anyways.

Our Sales and Service Associate (SSA) always keeps a teller drawer out so she can come over and help when we're busy. So she could have come over to help us with the customers and cover lunch breaks and we could have been fine, EXCEPT that he refused to let her come over and help us! So, the first teller didn't go to lunch until 2:30pm. Then the other girl went, (they'd both been there earlier than me) by the time she got back it was 4 o'clock and he told me to get my stuff together and I could leave. I didn't end up leaving until 5, because of some stupid little thing that was really out of our control, so whatever. So basically I worked 8 hours with no lunch. Besides the fact that I'm pregnant, That's illegal!! I told the girls that if it happens again I'm calling HR on him. Not even just for me either. Our state laws here say that you are supposed to get your break within the first 5 hours of your shift and the first girl didn't get hers until 6 hours in. It was really an awful day.

So as you can imagine, work is still crazy because they haven't hired another teller yet so we're all working crazy hours trying to get everything covered. I've been going to bed earlier and earlier cause I've been so tired. But it's good for my paycheck, so that's a definite plus!

Time for the check in! 18 Weeks. 22 left to Go! We can do it! I'm having him check for twins at our ultrasound (12 days) LOL !
