It's only been 2 months...

My mom mentioned today that it had been awhile since I've posted so I decided to get back on the wagon!

Victor is potty learning! He consistently goes pee and poop in the potty with minimal interference from us. The only times we even ask him about it is if we are getting ready to leave the house. He also goes potty out in stores or at the park, library, anywhere, it doesn't phase him. Now we just have to work on wiping himself!

Victor also got a new big boy car seat!

Cadie was hitting the weight limit of her infant seat, so instead of buying her a new seat and then later having to get a booster for Victor and moving kids around again when we have more, we got him a seat that is a 3 in 1 convertible. So when he hits the limits for it as a 5 point harness seat, we can use it with the seat belt as a booster. Later, after baby 3 (no I'm not pregnant) when kids need to get moved up again we can just spend $30 on a regular booster and Cadie will get this seat, new baby will get hers, etc. Victor loves his new seat and is SOOOO excited whenever we go to get in the car! Cadie is not as excited about the new seats but that's only because we don't have a shade for her yet so she constantly has the sun in her face.

Cadie is 7 months as of yesterday and has so much going on! She's on the verge of crawling, she gets up on hands and knees and rocks and reaches for stuff and can push herself back to a sitting position from her tummy, etc. Any day now! Plus she's starting to try and pull herself up on stuff AND trying to get in some new teeth. Shew!

I call this the crab: she just started doing this yesterday. when laying on her tummy and she pushed herself back to sitting, she locks her legs and ends up with her butt straight in the air. She can almost stand up from there but she ends up thumping back straight on her tush.

Yesterday I put my muffin on the table and went around the corner to change loads in the laundry room. When I came back I found this! She had swiped it and devoured it! She also loves peas, squash, carrots (those took her a few days, but she likes them now), pears, bananas, applesauce, and sweet potatoes. We'll be moving to mostly finger foods soon I think since she already is getting mad at me when I try to feed her.

We've been trying some new fun indoor stuff lately, this one is the indoor sandbox. I put oatmeal and rice in a broiler pan and he ran his trucks all through it and just had a blast. I'm hoping to get a deep plastic tub to have this in next time. It'll be so much more fun when we're not stopping to pick up little kernals every few minutes.

Home made playdough! This recipe is so easy and turned out so well! As soon as we buy more salt I'm making some more colors. It literally only took a few minutes and my kids were running in circles around me screaming while i did it, lol. It cooled off really fast, was nice and doughy and NOT greasy at all! It also sat out most of the day and all night (whoops!) and the next morning after a good kneading, was good as new! It didn't dry out at all. AND, when I stepped on a piece of it (in our WHITE carpet) it picked right up and didn't stick to the carpet at all! I love this stuff, I will definitely be making more.

Took a quick walk today between rain storms to the library. They were closed, I forgot they were getting ready for the book sale tomorrow! Doh! Oh well, Victor had fun putting our books and movies back in the slot on the side and had fun walking home "jumping in muddy puddles like peppa pig!". Also on the way home he saw a pinwheel in our neighbors yard and was very upset when I explained to him that he had to leave it there because it wasn't ours. I told him we could try to make our own. So I looked it up online and found a super easy tutorial and I magically had all the supplies needed! I love it when that works out!

He loves it! He is running around the house with it yelling, "mommy look! My very own pinwheel!!!"

A few weeks ago was Matt and mine's 4 year wedding anniversary. He ended up working most of the day and didn't get home till after 7pm, but it was a still a great day/ evening! I made a cake, kind of an homage to our wedding cake (on a REALLY small scale, lol).

No matter what it looked like, it was delicious! Happy Anniversary honey, I love you!

This was Victor and I waiting for daddy to get home that day. I guess he really does look like me!
